Attitude Of Farmers To The UPSUS SIWAB (Special Efforts Of Cows Are Required To Be Pregnant) In Kedungpring District, Indonesia Country
Kedungpring District is a sub-district in Lamongan Regency. In Kedungpring Subdistrict itself, IB activities have been carried out since decades ago. The farmers there have already obtained the IB program from the officers in the local livestock service and UPT. And almost all breeders in Kedungpring Subdistrict know about the IB program (Artificial Insemination) in cattle before the Upsus Siwab Program. In the group of livestock totaling 23 groups and all are targeted by the Upsus Siwab program. But in the implementation of the Upsus Siwab program there are still problems such as lack of socialization, ignorance of the community about the program, and other technical matters related to the Upsus Siwab program. Based on these problems, I raised a study on the Attitude of Farmers Against Upsus Siwab Program (Special Efforts Of Cows Are Required To Be Pregnant) in Kedungpring District, Lamongan Regency.
The research method used is a qualitative method as a direct data source. While the instrument or research tool is the researcher itself. In this study there were 7 (seven) people informant of 5 (five) farmers from 3 (three) farmer groups and 2 (two) officers from the agency. In qualitative research, data sources were selected by purposive sampling. The data used are primary and secondary data. Determination of research subjects or informants in this research activity are farmers who have cows and buffaloes who get the Upsus Siwab Program and also the implementation officers from related agencies. The target of education is the informants from farmers in the groups used as research sites. Evaluation of counseling in this study is using qualitative methods.
The result of implementing of KIPA is that the majority of farmers only know that the Upsus Siwab program is a free injection program. This is due to lack of socialization. The attitude of the farmer to the Upsus Siwab program is to accept the program. This is based on the results of the research with statements from informants who all agreed to the program and hoped to continue it and make improvements to the lack of things in the program. The extension method used is Anjangsana by using leaflet media. On average after the extension, farmers understand the program, which initially only briefly becomes better understood.
